The Pyranometer App transforms your iPhone into a basic solar radiation measurement device, providing readings in Watts per square meter (W/m²). It is important to note that the Pyranometer App 2.0 is intended solely for educational and recreational use. Accurate measurement of solar radiation in professional contexts requires high-precision thermopile pyranometers, which are widely utilized in meteorology, climatology, solar energy research, agriculture, and related disciplines.

This application is offered free of charge by Hukseflux Thermal Sensors, a recognized leader in the development of solar radiation sensors. The release of the App on iTunes signifies Hukseflux’s innovation in utilizing the iPhone camera combined with a diffusing filter to simulate pyranometer functions. The latest version, 2.0, includes enhanced compatibility with iOS and introduces new features designed to increase user engagement.

While primarily intended for educational purposes and casual demonstrations, the App also allows users to share insights into their professional interests with family and friends.
